乔治·埃兹拉·巴奈特于1993年6月7日在赫特福德郡赫特福德出生。他的父母都是教师，他的父亲保罗在史蒂文尼奇的巴恩威尔学校任教。巴奈特在Bengeo小学和西蒙·巴勒学校接受了初中教育。他曾在赫特福德地区学院学习。2011年，他搬到布里斯托尔，在英国和爱尔兰现代音乐学院学习创作歌曲。埃兹拉有一位名叫杰西卡的姐姐，她常随他一同巡演，还有一位名叫伊桑的弟弟，也是一位创作歌手，艺名为Ten Tonnes。
